About the National Workshop on “Recent Trends in Forensic Science and Its Utility”

The first of its kind, National Workshop on ‘Recent Trends in Forensic Science and its Utility’ is being organised by Forensic Science Section, Department of Anthropology, University of Delhi on 18th and 19th March, 2016.

Here, we are inviting Forensic Scientists from Central Forensic Science Laboratory-CBI; National Forensic Science Laboratory, Delhi; Forensic Anthropologists, pure and medical scientists, anthropologists and experts from Indira Gandhi National Open University; National Human Rights Commission; Police officers from Delhi Police along with Document Experts and Law Experts.

The workshop will be a platform for all the students engaged in forensic science studies viz. Masters in Forensic Science, Certificate course in Forensic Science and Post-Graduate Diploma in Forensic Sciences to interact and discuss the needs, scope and recent trends in Forensic Sciences.

Forensic Science is the backbone of Justice System which draws conclusive evidences from scientific observations to combat the crime. In the modern India, there is a crucial demand of an effective organization where the field of forensic may grow with innovative ideas and thoughts. The Forensic Science Association of India (FSAI) will contribute to advance professionalism, competency, promote interdisciplinary communications, encourage research, and stimulate collaboration in the field of forensic sciences. The association will offer a wide range of opportunities for the academic and professional development of individuals working in the field of forensic and allied disciplines. The FSAI will take the lead in connecting the forensic scientists, researchers and students who wish to serve the society.

Graduates from any science courses may become the members, this would be the first step on the ladder to working towards professional members and where you will find arena for communication collaboration and networking with fellow practitioners, academics and students. It will also provide you the chance to develop your knowledge in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice through the high calibre presentations and publications.
