Prof. Anup Kumar Kapoor taught papers on Human origins and variation, Living Human Populations/ Biological Diversity in Human Populations, Craniometry, Somatometry and Somatoscopy, Human Population Genetics, Ethnic elements in Indian Populations, Anthropology of India, Anthropology in Practice, Fundamentals of Population Studies, Paleoanthropology, Human Population Genetics, Biostatistics and Computational Anthropology, Serology, Dermatoglyphics, Demographic Anthropology, Forensic Anthropology, Research Methods and Techniques and Applied Physical Anthropology for the last 32 years in University of Delhi. He has been awarded various awards like Ruchi Award, Life-time Education Achievement Award, Vidya RatanAward , Man of the Year Award, Dr. Panchanan Mitra Memorial Award and also has been elected as the Sectional President in Anthropological and Behavioural Sciences of Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata. He has served variously in the capacity of Provost of D. S. Kothari hostel from 1999-2001 and as member of governing body of various committees and colleges. Also, he was the deputy Proctor of Delhi University from 1989-2004. He has successfully completed several projects variously funded by ICMR, ICSR, UGC, University of Delhi, ICSSR, etc. and is currently investigating a project funded by Lionex Diagnostic and Therapeutics, Germany Sponsored project “Prevalence of Tuberculosis among migrants and settled populations of Delhi” (2013-14). He has been central to framing the syllabus of B.Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc., (Anthropology) and Certificate Course in Forensic Science and is a Patron of various committees including Jiwaji University, Gwalior. Professor Kapoor was the former Vice Chancellor of Jiwaji University, Gwalior. He retired from active service in January 2019.
